Description
The Billionaire’s Wake-Up-Call Girl is a romantic comedy novel that tells the story of Lizzie Cooper and Theo Drummond. Lizzie is in a bad position after her ex ruins her bakery business and leaves her with serious debt and financial burdens. To try to get back on her feet, she takes a job at Theo’s company. Though a smart businessman, Theo is well known for being very difficult to work under. Lizzie is assigned to find him a wake-up-call service; however, no company wants to work with him, so she secretly starts calling him herself every morning. Their calls begin as rude and funny but slowly become more personal, creating a connection between them before Theo even knows who she really is. The story shows ideas of identity, control, power, workplace pressure, trust, and learning to see people beyond first impressions. Our group chose this story because it uses humor and romance to show how relationships can change when people become more honest and vulnerable with each other. It encourages readers to think about how love can grow when both people let go of pride, fear, and the roles they are expected to play.
