Parish Histories Collection

The Parish Histories Collection contains histories of parishes in Dayton, Ohio, and surrounding communities. Parish histories provide a unique look at the Catholicism at the local level. These histories depict the growth of Catholicism in the Dayton area, and can reveal important insights about diverse topics such as immigrants’ experiences and suburbanization. The histories also reflect major national and international events, such as World War I, World War II, and the Second Vatican Council.
