Description
Reliquary containing an unidentified relic, possibly Saint Elizabeth of Aragon or Saint Elizabeth of Hungary. The document certifying the authenticity of this relic can be downloaded below as a PDF file. Saint Elizabeth of Aragon (1271-1336) was the Queen of Portugal. She was dedicated to the poor and the sick, and became a nun after her husband's death. Saint Elizabeth of Hungary (1207-1231) was a Hungarian princess who established a hospital where she served the sick. Elizabeth of Aragon was the great-niece and namesake of Elizabeth of Hungary.
