Abstract

In this sixth iteration of the Report Card on the Status of Women, the University of Dayton’s Women’s Center has decided to change the layout of this inaugural report. By adapting the Report Card on the Status of Women to a magazine style, we aim to increase the amount of information that is reported, facilitate readability, provide more analytical insights into our data, and hopefully reach a wider audience. Furthermore, we have added details that focus on pay grade disparities between gender and race. Nonetheless, our goal in generating the Report Card annually continues to be aimed at increasing institutional diversity and promoting equity for underrepresented staff and faculty. In doing so, the report identifies areas where progress is being made and areas where more work is needed.

The Report Card is also a space to share progress on gender equity initiatives led by the Women's Center and other units across campus. Data presented in this Report Card was provided by the university’s Institutional Research Office and represents data collected in Fall 2023; all gender and racial categories are self-reported. As with the previous iteration of the report card, we disaggregated the data to more clearly show the differences between and among women and men by examining both gender and race. Of significance to note in this year’s Report Card is the addition of data for pay grades regarding different job positions and levels, including that of the University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI).

Report includes: Important Terms; About the Report Card; Quick Facts about Faculty Representation; Faculty Representation; A Closer Look at Faculty Representation; Academic Division Leadership; Staff Representation by Unit; Administrative Support Representation; Comparing Non-Exempt Representation; UDRI Representation Non-Exempt Staff; Board of Trustees and President’s Cabinet; Staff Representation by Pay Grade; Interview with Angeline Washington
