Bernard Whelan writes, "In 1918, 15 years after making first flight, Mr. Orville Wright agreed to make a flight with one of their early planes to show comparison between that type and [World War I] planes. Mr. Wright put on a very interesting exhibition though he had not piloted a plane in four years. I witnessed the flying from a DH-4 I was piloting."
