Description

Bernard L. Whelan, shown here in the cockpit of a DH-4, wrote that the Dayton Wright rapidly tooled and staffed its plant to build the British DH-4 around the U.S. Liberty engine to provide a reconnaissance and light bomber aircraft for U.S. air forces.
