Description
Harry Atwood with his Wright hull-type "flying boat" at Toledo Beach, an amusement park owned by the Toledo Rail Light Co. The company, which offered streetcar service to Toledo Beach, advertised "Periodic Airplane Flights with Wright Airplanes, weather permitting." Atwood hired Bernard L. Whelan to fly the amphibious plane, occasionally with passengers, during a brief leave of absence from NCR.
