Description
The Urban Child Development Resource Center offers services to aid in the social and emotional development of children. Mental health therapists and social workers offer prevention programs that strengthen coping skills, instill thought processes to prevent abusive behavior, and assist students in understanding how to use words to resolve conflicts. Linda will share how the program partners with Dayton Catholic schools, focusing on:
- Collaboration - between UD and urban schools which resulted in the formation of UCDRC
- Strong support system - for school principals, staff, students, and their families which is embedded in the program
- Main components - mental health treatment (including violence prevention) and social works

5. Advisory Board components
In addition, the Peacemakers, a group of student leaders, will share the means provided to them to offer peer mediation, support for their school efforts, and how they feel empowered to provide for their school community.
