Biographical Information
(b. 1991) Matthew Emery is a Canadian composer. He was the 2013 ACDA Raymond W. Brock composition winner; the recipient of the 2014 ACCC Diane Loomer Award for Choral Writing; and the 2017 recipient of the William and Phyllis Waters Award at the University of Toronto. As an undergraduate, he studied with Stephen Chatman and Jocelyn Morlock at the University of British Columbia. A member of the Canadian League of Composers, he holds a master's in music from the University of Toronto. He is a fellow of Melodious Accord with private study under Alice Parker.
