Abstract
Have you ever wondered about some nonthreatening ways to begin a writing program with your adult literacy students? I often face this problem with my students at Goodwill Industries of the Miami Valley, Inc. I have found that a writing journal is an effective way to introduce writing while still working with reading, self-esteem, and confidence levels.Throughout this article I will discuss three types of journals as well as different assignments that have been useful with our adult learners.
