Abstract
This session will feature a reading of short essays specifically crafted for the Imagining Community event that will call upon the works of Toni Morrison, bell hooks, James Baldwin and Mariame Kaba to argue that Dayton can't claim to have even begun the difficult work of building a just, equitable and free city. Audience members will be encouraged to discuss each essay and ask questions after each reading.
