Abstract
The University of Dayton's board of trustees approved a 3.5 percent price increase for next fall and heard plans to wire the student neighborhood with a high-speed fiber-optic network to enable learning beyond the classroom and around the clock. The moderate increase falls below this year's 5 percent average increase in tuition and fees at the nation's public and private four-year institutions, as reported by the College Board in September. "We're serious about holding down the cost and making a University of Dayton education affordable for families," said Brother Raymond L. Fitz, S.M., president. "It's part of our Vision 2005 strategic plan to contain costs, and we're committed to that."
