Abstract

The University of Dayton's Symphonic Wind Ensemble will give a concert Oct. 29 in Kennedy Union's Boll Theatre. This performance is free and open to the public. Among the works to be performed will be Lincolnshire Posy by Percy Grainger in celebration of the composition's 60th year; Timepieces by Cynthia Folio; and "Gandalf: The Wizard" from Johan de Meij's Lord of the Rings Symphony. The concert will also include a performance of Bernard Gilmore's Five Folksongs for Soprano and Wind Ensemble, featuring soprano Linda Snyder, professor of music at UD.
