Abstract

By bringing together Political Science, Criminal Justice and Security Studies, and Pre-law, the Department of Political Science will offer a comprehensive approach to understanding power, justice, and governance at local, national, and global levels. Guided by the University of Dayton’s Marianist values, we emphasize ethical leadership, service to the community, and the dignity of all persons. We offer undergraduate degrees in Political Science, Criminal Justice and Security Studies, along with a robust Pre-law program that prepares students for legal education and careers in law. Through partnerships with local law enforcement, courts, government agencies, and community organizations, we provide students with meaningful experiential learning opportunities including internships, field experiences, and applied research.
