Description
Porcelain doll wearing habit typical of the Sisters of the Cenacle. The congregation was founded in Lalouvesc, France in 1826 by Father Stephen Terme and Saint Therese Couderc. The order has a strong presence in the United States, centered in Ronkonkomo, New York. The word "Cenacle" refers to the room in which the Last Supper was held and also the room in which Jesus's followers awaited the coming of the Holy Spirit after the Ascension. The doll is wearing a black habit with black veil, purple cape, and a white wimple with pleated ruffles, and a wooden rosary with metal trim on the crucifix is hanging from her waist. She is also wearing a foil cross hanging from a black cord around her neck.
