My collage represents the feeling of history repeating itself and walking into another time of unknown. Specifically, my collage incorporates elements from the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic and the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. By using elements like hand-drawn illustration and newspaper clippings, I wanted to get across the feeling of a handmade poster despite being made in Photoshop.

A lot of my process in making my collage was done on paper and drawing with micron pens. I enjoy drawing and illustration a lot, and I wanted to incorporate that love for drawing in my poster as much as I could. Also, I used various brushes and colors in Photoshop to add a pop of color to my illustrations and give off the appearance of watercolor paint.

This was a very fun project, and I learned a lot through this experience. By far the most enjoyable part of the process for me was being able to illustrate the pictures I used in my project instead of just using found images.
