Why the honoree chose the book
I have chosen The Stolen Bicycle, by Dr. Wu Ming-Yi, a literature professor in Taiwan, for my recognition of promotion. While it reads like a novel, the story is deeply intertwined with the history of Taiwan. This book holds special significance to me, as it connects to one of my core identities—my birth country, Taiwan. I wish to bring this part of my heritage to where I have established my career and my second home.
