Abstract
The Marianist Award is conferred annually by the University of Dayton to honor a person who has rendered outstanding service in our country to the Immaculate Mother of God, the Patronness of the United States of America and of the University of Dayton. Very Rev. James M. Darby, S.M., Provincial of the Marianists in the Cincinnati Province, presented the 1963 award to Father Laurentin. After the reading of the citation and the recipient's response, he delivered a reflective address entitled "Silent Upon a Peak in Darien."
