Abstract
D. H. Lawrence was a radical dualist who at times longed for oneness. This longing recurs in his writings in various guises:" 'it seems to me as a married couple makes one angel,'" states The Rainbow’s Tom Brangwen in an inspired and climactic moment during the wedding celebration of his daughter.
