Abstract
It will help me to express clearly what I want to say about faith if I first describe the general model which I use for understanding what religion is. The model involves these three clusters or configurations of phenomena and the relationships among them: 1) religious experience; 2) the forms of religious expression; 3) the human needs which are satisfied by the religious experience and forms of expression.
