Abstract
The two adaptations I want to consider are: Jean Marie Straub and Danielle Huillet's Nicht versohnt oder Es hilft nur Gewalt wo Gewalt herrscht based on the 1958 novel Billard um halbzehn and released in 1966 and Volker Schlondortrs and Margarethe von Trotta's Die verlorene Ehre der Katharina Blum oder Wie Gewalt entstehen und wohin sie führen kann, based on the Erzählung of the same name and released in 1975.
