Abstract
In this seventh iteration of the Report Card on the Status of Women, the University of Dayton’s Women’s Center has decided to change the layout of this inaugural report. By adapting the Report Card on the Status of Women to a magazine style, we aim to increase the amount of information that is reported, facilitate readability, provide more analytical insights into our data, and hopefully reach a wider audience. Nonetheless, our goal in generating the Report Card annually continues to be aimed at increasing institutional diversity and promoting equity for underrepresented staff and faculty. In doing so, the report identifies areas where progress is being made and areas where more work is needed. The Report Card is also a space to share progress on gender equity initiatives led by the Women's Center and other units across campus.
Data presented in this Report Card was provided by the university’s Institutional Research Office, now the Office for Decision Support and represents data collected in Fall 2024; all gender and racial categories are self-reported. As with the previous iteration of the report card, we disaggregated the data to more clearly show the differences between and among women and men by examining both gender and race. Similar to last year, we have focused on pay grade disparities between gender and race. Of significance to note in this year’s Report Card we have added some comparison snapshots of faculty demographics in relation to undergraduate student demographics.
As the Report Card explores faculty representation. It is important to note that on pages 3-6,the charts exclude 2 women who declined to state their race/ethnicity, 6 men who declined to state their race/ethnicity, 3 women who indicated “Non Resident International” as their race/ethnicity, and 15 men who indicated “Non Resident International” as their race/ethnicity.
