Biographical Information
(1874-1951) Theophil Otto Frederick Charles (Theo) Wendt was a composer and conductor of the SABC orchestra. Born in Sydenham, London, he left England in 1896 to teach music and piano in Grahamstown, South Africa. In 1924, he was appointed musical director and studio manager of South Africa’s first broadcasting station.
