Why the honoree chose the book
I first read this book in 2001, and it had a lasting impact on my approach to leadership. It helped me understand that as a leader, I needed to be attuned to my blind spots and expand my approach as a leader and manager. It helped me understand that I needed to look for colleagues with different leadership styles so that I could learn from them. This book was always on my bookshelf, and I continued to read and use the techniques in it throughout my career.
